Manchester City break Premier League record with victory over Huddersfield

Manchester City recovered from going a goal down to beat Huddersfield 2-1 in a dramatic clash at the John Smith’s Stadium. Pep Guardiola‘s men were in danger of suffering their first defeat of the 2017/18 campaign as Nicolas Otamendi put the ball into his own net in the dying moments of the first-half.

However, City showed immense fighting spirit after the break, with Raheem Sterling immediately winning a penalty which was converted by Sergio Aguero in the 47th minute. The away side dominated the possession as the second-half wore on and Sterling’s winner in the 84th minute meant City broke a Premier League record.

Manchester City have won 37 points from their 13 matches this season – the best-ever points total at this stage of a @premierleague campaign.

Asked about City’s someback at Huddersfield, Guardiola said: ‘The correction from the first half were minimal because we played quite good – we created more chances than in the second half but that is the Premier League for you. ‘I have said many times it is impossible that we will finish unbeaten because you play a lot of games every three days.

Every superhero that will appear in Marvel's upcoming movie

From Winter Soldier to Black Panther, check out every superhero that will appear in the upcoming Marvel's "Avengers: Infinity War."

Avengers: Infinity War official trailer

In the anticipated Marvel's "Avengers:  Infinity War," earth's mightiest superheroes  assemble to defeat a powerful villain, Thanos.

In the upcoming superhero movie, the Avengers join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to confront Thanos, who is trying to collect the Infinity Stones.

Virtually every hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe makes an appearance, and Pulse Movies has shared a list of every confirmed hero in "Avengers: Infinity War."

Check them out.

1. Black Panther

Character posters for Marvel's "Black Panther"

After his own standalone film  hits theaters in  February 2018,  Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa AKA Black Panther will reprise his role in the anticipated "Avengers: Infinity War."

In the trailer, he is assisted by the Wakanda fighters in the war against Thanos.

2. Loki

Loki is absent from 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'  (Coming Soon)

The last time we saw Loki in "Thor Ragnarok," he was being a superhero:  fighting Hela and saving the people of Asgard.

However, judging by the "Infinity War" trailer, this Marvel character you all love to hate plays a huge (negative) role in the epic battle against Thanos.

3. Groot

Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2  (Gizmodo)

Vin Diesel who plays Groot is excited about the possibility of his character and Hulk sharing a moment in "Avengers: Infinity War."

And we think you should also be excited, after all, it's the charming Baby Groot.

4. War Machine

The last time we saw Don Cheadle's War Machine in "Captain America: Civil War," he was in a bad shape.

The good news is that thanks to an "augmentation" courtesy of Tony Stark, the superhero will return for "Infinity War."

5. Drax the Destroyer

Drax fighting in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2  (The Cheat Sheet)

Playing Drax in "Guardians of the Galaxy" gave Dave Bautista his big break in Hollywood.

He reprises his character in the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War," and according to the actor, he is exited about sharing a screen with Iron Man.

6. Ant-Man

Marvel's superhero "Ant-Man" plays big for the silver screen  (Newsbulletin)

Before the upcoming "Ant-Man and the Wasp," Paul Rudd will return as Scott Lang in "Avengers: Infinity  War."

7. Spider-Man

Tom Holland as Peter Parker in "Spider-Man: Homecoming"  (Chuck Zlotnick/Sony Pictures Entertainment)

Honestly, Spider-Man joining the Avengers in "Captain America: Civil War" remains one of the best parts of the film.

So it's no surprise that Tom Holland who plays the character will appear in "Avengers:  Infinity War," and hopefully, he would still have a sense of humour.

8. Star-Lord

Star Lord and Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2  (Digital Spy)

Fans were once told that the world of Guardians of the Galaxy is different one from that of the Avengers.

Nevertheless, the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War" will see Chris Prat's Star-Lord team up with other superheroes to defeat the common enemy Thanos.

9. Gamora

Star-Lord isn't turning up for the war alone. Turns out that all members of the Guardians of the Galaxy gang are involved, including Zoe Saldana's Gamora.

10. Doctor Strange

Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange  (ComingSoon )

One of the most recent superheroes to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange has a huge role to play in the war against Thanos.

11. Falcon

Anthony Mackie as Falcon)   (Yahoo)

Anthony Mackie's Falcon has consistently been a part of the Avengers' story, so it's no surprise that he is part of the epic war.

12. Shuri

Letitia Wright from "Black Panther" will reprise her role as Black Panther's sister in "Avengers: Infinity War."

She is also the tech genius behind the weapons used by her brother.

"Get this man [Captain America] a shield," Black Panther said in the trailer. So yes, Shuri could be getting the Avengers some tech upgrades.

13. Winter Soldier

The last time we saw Captain America's old war buddy, he volunteered to be locked up in Black Panther's kingdom Wakanda.

In the upcoming Marvel superhero movie, he returns to help fight Thanos.

14. Hawkeye

Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye   (Comingsoon )

Though Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye isn't one of the main heroes on the Avengers' team, he has always been an integral part of the team.

15. Vision

In "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Paul Bettany was Vision, a powerful android, all thanks to the Mind Stone.

If you have seen the "Avengers: Infinity War" trailer, then you already know that Thanos will get hold of the Mind Stone.

16. Black Widow

Scarlet Johansson as Black Widow in Avengers  (Marvel)

Scarlett Johansson returns as Black Widow for "Avengers: Infinity War."

17. Scarlet Witch

Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch was one of the first characters confirmed for "Infinity War" during a press screening for "Captain America: Civil War."

Joe Russo described her as a growth arc, and her involvement in "Infinity War" is part of her development.

18. Hulk

Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok  (JoBlo)

Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner and his alter ego Hulk will be handy in the battle against the powerful Thanos.

The last time we saw him, he helped Thor defeat his sister and save the people of Asgard.

19. Thor

Thor: Ragnarok  (Uproxx)

With "Thor: Ragnarok," this Superhero has proven to be the all powerful god of Thunder, even without his hammer.

In "Avengers: Infinity War," he seems to be the first of the already existing Avengers to come in contact with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

20. Captain America

captain america  (Marvel)

Considering that he is the first Avenger, we guess it is logical to say that an Avengers film is only complete with the superhero.

And for "Avengers: Infinity War," fans will enjoy a hot and bearded Captain America.

21. Wong

Doctor Strange's Wong appears in "Avengers: Infinity War"

In "Avengers: Infinity War," Doctor Strange won't be without his mentor wong

Every Batman Actor, Ranked From Worst To Best

Batman isn't the easiest of roles to fill. For one thing there's the fans, who seem to hate anyone cast in the role before they've seen a scrap of footage. And then there's the duality of the role.

There's Bat action, Bat punches, Bat driving and so on, but there's also the side he doesn't like to mention, Bruce Wayne. Whilst not exactly the other side of the coin, the billionaire orphan is quite a different beast altogether.

Any actor taking on this role has to have a vision (or a director with one) and also the sizeable talent required to pull off the double performance. Many have tried but only a few have lived up to the task.

Leaving out the videogame and parody iterations, here are the eight highest-profile Batman actors, ranked for you.

8. George Clooney

Why Clooney didn't walk from this so-called "film" when the Bat Credit Card made an appearance is anyone's guess. You would have thought the Batman and Robin script too might have been a clue to what he was in for.

Regardless, the ER star's performance in the notoriously abysmal 1997 movie didn't help matters.

His Bruce Wayne was full of his irritating "boyish charm" and head-tilting tics but his fetishistic Dark Knight avec Bat-Nipples was a mess. Little-to-no personality shone through the awful haze of '90s Joel Schumacher neon garbage.

7. Val Kilmer

On the topic of Clooney, even back then, we knew he was better than the movie he was in.

Kilmer was most assuredly not.

We didn't expect anything from Val and that's almost what we got in Batman Forever. He's not terrible – no, honestly – though the film around him is.

Kilmer can't hack being Wayne, his heart-to-hearts with Robin (played by bland entertainment robot Chris "Can you remember his surname before we get there?" O'Donnell) are school-play bad and not a worthy successor to the Tim Burton films.

But he does pull off the cape and cowl and we do admire his cheeky grin when flirting with Nicole Kidman's Chase Meridian.

6. Ben Affleck

Fans were outraged (when aren't they outraged?) when Oscar-winner Affleck was unveiled as the new Batman for the burgeoning DC movie series back in 2013.

It was only one year since Christian Bale had turned off the Bat signal and retired to Florence with Selina "Let's not refer to her as 'Catwoman' though she definitely is" Kyle in the finale of the Christopher Nolan trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.

Affleck's first outing was up against ol' Supes himself in the roundly-lambasted Batman V Superman. Batfleck, though far from perfect, did a solid job in not managing to make moviegoers hate him (though he didn't quite manage to convince us why he hated Superman so much – sounded a bit racist to us).

He followed it up with an eye-popping cameo in the following year's Suicide Squad and then again in this year's also-not-well-received Justice League in a Batsuit that just looked a bit bulgy, a little bit foamy and odd. His take on Wayne is way too righteous and humourless but his Dark Knight is getting there.

5. Will Arnett

And on the opposite end of the spectrum is the Dark Brick.

The Arrested Development star stole the show as heavy metal and party-loving Batman in 2014's spectacular The Lego Movie. His lovably selfish approach to superheroing was quite refreshing.

And then, earlier this year, we got his very own outing, The Lego Batman Movie. Arnett really got a chance to flex his impressive Bat muscles through not only terrific action set pieces, touching drama (who can forget his heartbreaking bromance with the Joker?), and humour. He also got to display his wicked singing skills.

A Batman like no other.

Oh, and he does the sickest backflips.

4. Kevin Conroy

Taking the lead voice in the iconic Batman – The Animated Series, Conroy was not a household name. But, for many Batfans of a certain age, his Batman is THE Batman.

Portraying the Dark Knight with just voice alone is no mean feat but Conroy handled it with aplomb, bringing gravitas and believability to the animated antics of Gotham's finest. His secret, he claimed was to acknowledge that Bruce Wayne is a performance that Batman puts on, and not the other way around.

This Saturday morning cartoon was anything but childish – Conroy was the night, he was vengeance.

3. Christian Bale

For the promotion of Superman in 1978, the tag line boasted: "You'll believe a man can fly!"

For Batman Begins, the poster really should have claimed: "You'll believe the Bat is real."

Christopher Nolan brought reality to Gotham and, more importantly, to Batman. At the heart of this was actor Christian Bale, a man known for his action and drama roles, as well as grinning Genesis fan/serial killer Patrick Bateman in American Psycho.

Bale's journey as Wayne and his alter ego was perfectly delivered from the Welsh actor, who played the seriousness of every dilemma faced as the Bat whilst showing off with a smirk as the wealthy socialite. The suit was never a hindrance to what Bale could do.

Although the final instalment didn't really give us anything new, Bale had already cemented himself as on THE Batman for a generation; Christian would be a tough act to follow. Sorry Ben.

2. Adam West

No one does Sixties camp quite like West. He tore up the screen in lavish technicolor as the Caped Crusader in the 1966 shark repellent-laden movie alongside the iconic television series.

From the delivery of every lugubrious line to his exotic Batdance, Adam West's portrayal may not be the Batman you wanted, but it's the one you deserve.

The actor has returned many, many times to the role in animated form over an incredible five decades. His performances have never wavered and remained as solid as his duty to Gotham.

Adam West and Batman will be synonymous with each other until the end of time.

1. Michael Keaton

The aforementioned fan outrage at the casting of Kilmer and Affleck pales into utter insignificance when compared to the deluge of hate and disgust when Tim Burton revealed the choice for his leading man/men, Michael Keaton.

Now, remember, this was pre-internet so when fans got mad, it actually meant something. Over 50,000 letters expressing their negativity towards the news were sent to Warner Brothers, the company behind the 1989 film. Keaton, at this point, was a purely a comedic actor known for Mr. Mom and Burton's previous flick, Beetlejuice.

Even professionals were upset. Michael E. Uslan, who has served as executive producer on every Batman movie since 1989, admitted he was apoplectic and argued with Burton: "What's the poster going to say? That Mr Mom is Batman?"

Thankfully, Burton stuck to his guns and delivered his vision with Keaton blowing the world away in an instant of proclaiming, "I'm Batman."

His Bruce Wayne plays to his comedic skills but it's when the millionaire is trying to confess his identity, using the very same phrase, to Vicki Vale (Kim Bassinger) where his dramatic chops come into play. This is topped in the sequel, the less-successful but better, Batman Returns. where he ominously awaits the Bat signal before costuming up and tearing Gotham's bad boys apart.

Movie audiences had never experienced this sort of Batman before (the comic world had been enjoying it for years) and it's difficult to even imagine another actor playing the role at the time.

He may not be remembered like Adam West but, for us, Keaton is the best.

Conor McGregor Might Never Fight Again

There are rumours that Conor McGregor who has stayed off the UFC ring for over a year might never fight again as he has amassed so much money.

It’s been more than three months since Conor McGregor last fought, and almost 13 months since he last set foot inside the Octagon.

UFC president Dana White admitted Tuesday in a small gathering with reporters that he’s not sure when – or, significantly, if – the lightweight champion will fight again.

White said he knew nothing about reports in Ireland that McGregor was involved in a brawl in a pub in Dublin on Sunday. One of the men McGregor is alleged to have punched is a man with ties to the leader of a drug cartel in Ireland.

McGregor couldn’t be reached for comment and his manager, Audie Attar, failed to respond to messages. White said he hasn’t spoken with McGregor, but was betting the reports are erroneous.

“No, [I don’t know anything about it], but I don’t think it’s true,” White said. “Conor can walk down the street and it’s big news now. If this is true, I just have to believe it would be off-the-charts crazy.”

White said he was trying to put together a fight involving McGregor for UFC 219, which will be held at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 30. Because of his actions earlier this month at a Bellator event – in which McGregor jumped into the cage during a fight, shoved the referee and slapped a Bellator employee – White said McGregor now won’t fight on that show as punishment.

Attar had previously denied McGregor was going to fight on the Dec. 30 show, saying his attention had always been focused on returning to the cage in the first quarter of 2018.

White admitted that he’s not so sure whether McGregor, who reportedly earned in excess of $100 million to fight Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match on Aug. 26, will ever compete again.

“Listen, Conor might never fight again,” White said as he was discussing the McGregor-Bellator incident. “He made $100 [expletive] million. I’ve got guys who made less than that who are lawyers and went to school their whole lives and quit working. When you go to school your whole life to be a lawyer, and you’re a good lawyer, and you make a few bucks and you’re done? The guy’s sitting home every day watching cartoons or whatever he’s doing. I don’t know.

“[Ex-UFC matchmaker] Joe Silva doesn’t work any more. These guys make money and that’s it. Fighting is the worst. Fighting is the worst. Try to get up and get punched in the face every day when you have $100 million in the bank. Money changes everything with a lot of people.”

White stressed that he likes McGregor and said the UFC is negotiating a new contract with him. McGregor has frequently said he wants equity in the company in his next contract, so White was asked about that.

While he said McGregor deserves to be richly paid, he stopped short of saying he deserved to be given a share of the company. He invoked NBA legend Michael Jordan’s name in his simple response.

“Did Jordan get points?” White asked, chuckling. He said, though, that “Conor can’t be paid enough money. He’s worth every penny and more.”

White said he had been speaking with McGregor’s representatives about a new deal. But he said he’s not trying to force McGregor to fight if he doesn’t want to any longer.

The fight business is different than others, White said, and it’s useless trying to urge someone to fight whose heart isn’t in it.

“Everybody always says to me, ‘You have to want this guy to fight. You’ve got to want this guy to fight,’ ” White said. “I don’t want anybody to fight unless they want to fight. This isn’t a business where you can just make people fight. You either want it or you don’t. That was my big thing with [Georges St-Pierre]. He wasn’t acting like a guy who really wants it. At the end of the day, I’m going to run this business with or without anybody.

“If Conor wants to fight again, absolutely we want Conor to come fight. But if Conor walks away and doesn’t ever want to fight again, it’s part of the game.”

White said McGregor needs to defend his lightweight title. He won it on Nov. 4, 2016, but hasn’t fought in MMA since. He also won the UFC featherweight title in 2015 but never defended that.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Didn't Spend Thanksgiving Together, and the Reason Makes Total Sense

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber may be in the midst of a whirlwind "Jelena" reunion, but that doesn't mean they're spending every waking moment together. In fact, according to E! News, they're making it a priority to spend some time apart.

A source told the outlet that Gomez and Bieber chose to spend the Thanksgiving holiday away from each other, and for a very good reason.

"They both spent Thanksgiving with their families. Justin went to Canada and Selena was in Texas," they said. "They are still doing really well together, but they agreed it was best for them to be with their families for the holiday."

The source said the pair did not communicate during the entire break, though a separate insider said they did still FaceTime while apart.

"Selena felt it was too soon for Justin to come to Texas with her. Her family is still getting comfortable with the idea of them back together," the source said. "Justin says he hopes he can spend Christmas with her but knows that it will take a very long time for her family to accept him back in."

Whether or not we'll get a Jelena holiday moment is TBD, but regardless, it sounds like things are going pretty well for the reunited duo, even if they aren't spending holidays together quite yet.

We can't wait to see how this rekindled romance plays out.
