Spin-Offs And Sequels That Literally No One Asked For

Most of the time, when a sequel or spin-off series is announced, one of two things happens: People shriek with delight, or groan with frustration. Then, when people actually see it, most of the time they just straight up can't get over what was.  Good intentions can end up besmirching the whole thing. Case in point...

Spinoff of: Jersey Shore

Part of the reason we loved Jersey Shore was because of the cast. Do we have a chance of loving this cast as well? Of course. But no one will ever replace our fave meatballs.

Sequel to: Mean Girls

Was there a single Mean Girls fan that liked this film? Some movies are classic for a reason, and need to stand alone. The Plastics are irreplaceable, and this film was not gruel.

Sequel to: Dumb and Dumber

Have you ever wondered what a generic version of Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels would look like? Well, Dumb and Dumberer took the guesswork out. Couldn't we have let this one go?

Sequel to: Bruce Almighty

Listen, I love Steve Carrell and Morgan Freeman. But was this sequel necessary? I would say this is the best one on this list, and while it isn't bad, it seems kinda redundant. Doesn't it?

5. The Golden Palace

Sequel to: The Golden Girls

I watched all seasons of The Golden Girls twice, I live for that show. While admirable, The Golden Palace didn't do it for a lot of fans because it was missing one important character: Dorothy.

6. That '80s Show

Spinoff of: That 70's Show

Did you know this show even existed? Because I sure didn't. Didn't run for long, about five months, because the cast didn't compare to that of the iconic That '70s Show.

7. Saved by the Bell: The College Years

Spinoff of: Saved by the Bell

Most people loved this spin-off, but I included it on this list because of its short running. Given a single season, it was a tease that some wished never happened.

8. Grease 2

Amazon | Paramount Pictures

Sequel to: Grease  Grease was one of those classic movies that would live on for generations, and with that being said, a lot of people felt it should have been untouched, ever.

9. The Brady Brides

Spinoff of: The Brady Brunch

Again, another case of nothing being wrong with this show, but it seemed kind of unneeded. We loved The Brady Brunch because they were a bunch, a fam jam, NOT two siblings.

10. SatC 2

Sequel to: SatC

Half of the reason we loved SatC was because it was set in New York. Seeing them in Abu Dhabi was fun (?) but it missed the mark, and Carrie kinda broke all our hearts with that kiss.

11. Joey

Spinoff of: Friends

Joey was one of my favorite characters from Friends, but this spin-off show was random. There was a strong feeling of missing the rest of the cast, like we were waiting for them to make an appearance.

12. Son of the Mask

Sequel to: The Mask

Perhaps one of the most unnecessary sequels we've ever seen hit the silver screen. The Mask was a full of laughter, and Son of the Mask wasn't funny...or interesting? #SorryNotSorry.
