Thank Goodness This Aquaman TV Show Got Cancelled

Before Jason Momoa was cast as Aquaman in the DCEU, Alan Ritchson appeared as the Atlantean on Smallville in 1995. However, in 2006, the creators sought to create an Aquaman spin-off with a different actor. Fortunately or unfortunately, Justin Hartley’s Aquaman never went beyond a pilot episode. If this trailer is anything to go by though, the CW and DC dodged a bullet.

Aquaman has long been the butt of fish jokes, however, Momoa has managed to make the character cool. The same cannot be said for Hartley’s version of the character. Watch the trailer for the unaired show below. Try not to cringe.

A young twenty-something diver living in the Florida Keys discovers he has the power to breathe underwater.

Funny enough, the Aquaman pilot became one of the first shows offered by Warner on the iTunes Store. Amazingly, it reached the number-one spot on the list of most downloaded TV shows on the digital store’s list within a week. Go figure.
