16 Facts About 'The Twilight Saga' To Sink Your Teeth Into

2008 was a much simpler time. Liquid leggings and tight miniskirts were all the rage, and we all went to see Twilight in theaters. Can you believe that next year will mark a whole decade since the first movie in the famous vampire franchise came out?

Since it has been a while, we might have forgotten some facts about the movies. Here are some refreshers, plus a few that you probably didn't even know before.

LIKE this article and TAG a friend who is still lowkey obsessed with the Twilight movies!

"I had no idea what 'Twilight' was. I asked people. I said, 'What is this thing?' They said, 'There's vampires, and you're in a forest.' That's really all I heard about it," he said about the audition.

She wrote that she had a vivid, detailed dream about a girl and a boy sitting in a field, having a serious conversation. The boy was sparkly. Thus, the infamous Twilight saga was born.

5. Stephanie is on #TeamJacob.

She said he was more, "her style."

Tbh, I was on Team Jacob, too, but not for the reason many other teenage girls are. I always found Edward to be a bit creepy and emotionally abusive. Anyone else feel me on that?

6. Before moving to Forks, Washington, Bella lived in the same town Stephanie Meyer did.

Both Bella and Stephanie grew up in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. Edward would have such a sparkly, glittery glo up there.

7. Taylor packed on pounds of pure, lean muscle for the second film in the franchise, New Moon.

Directors and producers were originally quite skeptical of whether or not Taylor could transform into a bulked-up, muscle man, but he delivered and didn't disappoint.

He gained 30 pounds of muscle for his reprise of the role of Jacob Black!

8. Bella and Edward recite their vows to the same song that they danced to during their high school prom.

"Flightless Bird, American Mouth" was playing during the prom when the two are dancing and she asks him to turn her into a vampire so they could be together forever.

Then, years later at their wedding, the song plays again. I'm not even on #TeamEdward but I gotta admit, that is so cute!

9. Robert had to swear that he'd maintain a focus on the role, not his underage female counterpart.

"She's underage. You've got to focus, dude, or you're going to be arrested. I made him swear on a stack of Bibles," director Catherine Hardwicke said before giving him the role. At the time, Kristen Stewart was only 17-years-old.

Welllllll, that didn't exactly work out, did it?

10. Stephanie made two cameos throughout the series: one in Twilight and one in Breaking Dawn — Part 1.

She played the woman with a laptop at the diner in the first movie, and a guest at the wedding in the fourth.

11. Robert won the role of Edward because of an instant electric bond that formed between him and Kristen.

It was down to him, Shiloh Fernandez, Jackson Rathbone, and Ben Barnes, but he won because of their undeniable chemistry during the last audition.

12. Unlike most of us at prom, Bella had a beautiful dress that didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Her dress was one of the cheapest things in the movie, costing a mere $20! Websites have recreated the dress for fans, but of course, it costs a bit more.

13. Before Robert was even cast, he and Kristen had to practice an intimate love scene on the director's bed.

Awkward, right? Catherine Hardwicke had the four final contestants for Edward reenact a love scene with Kristen, which helped her choose Robert for the part. Great first impression, I'm sure?

14. Vanessa Hudgens auditioned for the role of Leah Clearwater in New Moon!

Can you imagine Gabriella as a part of the wolf pack? Julia Jones ended up snagging the role instead.

15. Robert had a ton of anxiety about taking his shirt off during the auditions.

He said there was, "a lot of crying" during the whole process. Awe, poor guy! You look great, Rob!

16. Nikki Reed had to wear a wig for the second movie because of how damaged her hair was.

Nikki noted that the dyeing process was so damaging, she decided to wear a wig for New Moon.

"My hair fell out. It took 36 hours initially to make me blond, and every other day, I was bleaching my head and my skin," she said. Good call on the wig, Nikki.
