Wenger Sanchez.
Alexis Sanchez was desperate to leave Arsenal for Manchester City on Transfer Deadline Day but the two clubs failed to come to an agreement.
He's made no secret of his desire to play Champions League football and could join Pep Guardiola's side in a cut-price deal in January.
Sanchez, who will be able to leave Arsenal for nothing next summer, has nine months remaining on his contract and will be able to negotiate a contract with any foreign club from January.
German playmaker Mesut Ozil will also be able to leave on a free transfer next summer but Arsene Wenger remains hopeful that they will sign new deals.
"I always said that the fact that we didn't find an agreement last year doesn't mean that the player will necessarily leave - because both players look happy here," Wenger said. "Overall I hope that the situation can be turned around."
The 28-year-old Chilean forward scored 24 Premier League goals last season but is yet to get off the mark in the 2017/18 campaign.
However, Sanchez did score a beauty in the 3-1 Europa League win over Cologne in September.
Handshake snub in training
A video of Sanchez and Wenger in training on Wednesday was causing a major stir on Twitter amongst Gooners.
The veteran French manager can be seen shaking hands with Ozil and Nacho Monreal before sharing a rather awkward moment with the wantaway Chilean.
Sanchez seemingly had no interest of shaking his manager's hand but some fans weren't ready to jump to conclusions - although many more were.
See the mixed Twitter reaction amongst Arsenal fans below.
Despite their wealth of attacking options, Manchester City are expected to return with another bid in the January transfer window.
Sanchez will also have plenty of offers from abroad - it's not often a player of his calibre is available on a free transfer.
Unable to offer Champions League football, Wenger will have a huge job on his hands trying to replace him.
Monaco winger Thomas Lemar was a target towards the end of the summer transfer window and is certainly high on Wenger's wishlist.
