Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright blast Leicester City for signing Nigerian trio

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has hit out at former English Premier League champions Leicester City for signing the Nigerian trio of Wilfred Ndidi, Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Nigerians were part of the players Leicester City signed to beef up their squad after their surprise title success two years ago, but bar Ndidi, Musa and Iheanacho have struggled for game time.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Wright who now works as a pundit said the trio alongside other players signed by the club since their title success are not good enough, and simply don’t fit into the style of play of the club.

He mentioned the names of the Nigerians among the players signed by the club, who have failed to justify their signing despite the huge fee and salary they command at the club.

“They have not improved on the squad that won the League two seasons ago, signings like (Islam) Slimani, Ahmed Musa, Ndidi and Iheanacho were poor signings,” Wright said.
