Ahh, childhood — a time of innocence and purity! Well, not quite...and definitely not when it comes to some of the cartoons you watched as a kid.
Life can get tedious writing the same plotlines over and over again, so it's no wonder that a few cartoon writers took some "creative" liberties!
5. When Hey Arnold got real about the effects of psychedelic drugs
Ahh, classic Grandpa! You've gotta love him, what with his snazzy suspenders, his old-fashioned slang, and his acid flashbacks.
6. When SpongeBob SquarePants made this visual joke
To be honest, I don't even know if this can be considered a joke. It's just a upside-down boner on a sea sponge's face.
7. When Shrek made an assumption about Lord Farquad's assets
Just because he was short doesn't mean he wasn't packing. Who knows — under that codpiece, he could have been a tripod.
8. When Freakazoid and Cosgrove had this deep discussion about marriage
And I spent my whole childhood thinking his love of that bologna sandwich prevented him from committing to a woman.
9. Anyone else remember this episode of Cow and Chicken? Yes, those are literally "carpet munchers"
Don't ask me how cartoonists get away with this inappropriate and insulting content. No wonder my parents only let me watch educational programming.
10. When Nash wasn't talking about cars
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's pretty much a prerequisite that every show geared towards pre-teens is loaded with innuendos about hormonal teenagers having sex.
11. When SpongeBob got caught watching some inappropriate T.V. programming
Yep, that's a sea sponge getting hot and heavy in his living room. Looks like SpongeBob must have subscribed to some adult pay-per-view.
12. When the Powerpuff Girls gave us yet another reason to love them
It's a reality most of us learn a little later on in life, but it still can't hurt to warn us early!
13. When sleeping Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove literally pitched a tent
This one's a little more subtle, so bravo, Disney. It just goes to show that sometimes, big guys still pitch little tents.
14. When Green Arrow had something other than sparring in mind
When a guy named after an arrow and a girl named after a Canary get together, you've got to throw in a few penetration jokes.
15. When Fairly Odd Parents was all about the masturbation references
Judging by that mustache and the penchant for spreading paranoia, I'm also thinking that Dr. Bill might be a pseudonym for Dr. Phil.
16. And finally, this Full House zinger... Gotta love sisterly love!
Okay, so technically this isn't a cartoon, but Stephanie Tanner's burn on her sister is way too good not to be included.
