Wizkid becomes fifth Nigerian name on the Guinness Book of World Record



This year seems to be reward-reaping for the young music star.

People have finally found Wizkid's line in Drake's 'One Dance'

The Nigerian superstar, Ayodeji Balogun (known as Wizkid), has added his name to few Nigerians on the Guinness book of world record after his single "One Dance" became most streamed music on Spotify globally.

This music, which was co-created with the American pop star- Drake, achieved a billion streamed on the digital platform. Thus, placing their names on the 2018 Guinness Book of World Records

This record just set a new benchmark for music on the digital platform.  (tooexeclusive)

Nigeria’s name was first put on the list in 2006 after Kafayat Shafau (Kaffy) got the award for longest dance in the world. After this, Harrison Chinedu, Chidra Annemega and Obi Ajuanumo received the award for achieving a high fate in different activities.

In October 2016, Spotify took to its Twitter handle to acknowledge this achievement by the singer. Then, it had only been streamed for a little over 882 million times.

At present, Wizkid seems to be the man with the midas touch in the Nigerian music industry. This record has added to his adventure to breaking new grounds at international music scene.
