Manchester United are reportedly panicking over the future of talented star Angel Gomes as Barcelona are eyeing the attacking midfielder according to report.
Gomes became the youngest ever player to make an appearance for Red Devil first-team, at the aged just 16 years and 263 days, he played in the side’s 2-0 defeat of Crystal Palace as he replaces former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney.
According to the Sun that the 17-year-old Gomes is making the Manchester United sweat, with the highly-rated attacking midfielder yet to sign a new contract at Old Trafford.
Barcelona are monitoring the situation, with the hope they can sign the Englishman in the same way Juventus picked up Paul Pogba in 2012.
It’s claimed that Gomes was offered a new deal upon his seventeenth birthday last month but the contract remains unsigned.
Highly regarded by the United coaching staff, Gomes has been earmarked as one for the future. The youngster who joined the Manchester United academy at Junior school has also captained the England national team at the junior level.
