A number of the Premier League title contenders were in action on Saturday afternoon, bidding to get the upper hand early in the race for top spot.
Unsurprisingly, all of Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool picked up three points.
It's still very close as we're just a number of weeks into the season, but gaps will certainly open up as the campaign progresses.
Pep Guardiola's City put in the best performance of the day, hammering Crystal Palace 5-0. The result left them at the top and Palace rooted to the bottom of the table.
Antonio Conte's Chelsea were also in a free-scoring mood, putting four past Stoke City at the Bet 365 stadium.
Striker Alvaro Morata netted a hat-trick, ensuring that any memory of Diego Costa was quickly wiped following his agreement to join Atletico Madrid for over £50 million this week.
With both Chelsea and City winning on Saturday, there was plenty of reaction from victorious players across social media.
Morata expressed his delight after a top performance, while Leroy Sane posted that he was very happy with getting on the scoresheet himself.
All of this is to be expected of course, as it happens after every game. But one player was left red-faced after a PR mix-up.
John Stones, who played in City's defence this afternoon, posted a congratulations message to Morata and Chelsea on Instagram, accompanied by a picture of the Blues celebrating.
Check it out.
Of course, it was swiftly deleted, but not before a number of fans were able to screenshot it and poke fun at the mix-up.
According to the Mirror, Stones and Gary Cahill are managed by the same people, so it's believed the message was meant for his account.
It hasn't yet appeared on the Chelsea defender's Instagram and it's probably best for everyone involved if they scrap the idea for this week and start fresh next weekend.
And one things for sure - if the Blues beat the Citizens in seven days time, Stones certainly won't be posting a message of congratulations again!
