Justin Bieber Wins His First-Ever Latin Grammy

Justin Bieber attends The 58th GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on Feb. 15, 2016 in Los Angeles.

Who imagined that Justin Bieber would ever win a Latin Grammy? But it really happened on Thursday night when Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito" remix featuring Bieber was named the winner in the category best urban fusion/performance during the pre-show telecast at the 2017 Latin Grammy Awards.

The “Despacito” remix was released in April and a month later became the No. 1 song on Billboard’s Hot 100 for 16 weeks, tying Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” record for the longest run at the top of the chart.

Meanwhile, the original version of “Despacito” won in the record of the year and song of the year categories.
