Arsenal suffer injury blow ahead of Chelsea game



Arsenal Boss, Arsene Wenger is having concerns over the fitness of two of his stars ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to face the Premier League Champions Chelsea.

Wenger rested several key players in their Thursday Europa League clash against Cologne at the Emirates Stadium, despite the precautionary step taken by Wenger two of his players still face fitness concern.

Arsenal is concerned about the fitness of Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey going into the clash having lost at Stoke and Liverpool this season, the Emirate giants need to get a positive result at Stamford Bridge to keep themselves in the mix with their top four rivals.

Wenger admits that two of his players are struggling with injuries.

“We have to see about Ozil and Ramsey,” he said. “I think they should be alright. All the others could have played against Cologne.

“I believe in three days we can recover. Overall, that should not be a problem.”

Jack Wilshere returned to action on Thursday night, making his first Arsenal appearance in over a year.

 

“It is good for him,” said Wenger. You will see that it will give him more confidence.

“Sunday is an important game. I am confident that away from home we can get the points that we want.

“Mentally for our team, it’s important to play well and get a positive result.

“To play well we have to not forget the quality of our performances. That’s most important on Sunday.”

Chelsea has lost their last two matches against Arsenal, one in the FA Cup final and the other one in the Community Shield both games were played at the Wembley Stadium, Wenger will like this good run of victories to continue while Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will be out to stop the misfortune against his team.
