The Red Devils will face Liverpool after the international break in a much anticipated battle with their fierce rivals.
Both clubs are looking to win three points with Manchester United aiming for a title challenge and Liverpool fighting to put an end to a frustrating start.
The international break means most of United’s players have been involved in their country’s matches and some may miss out due to some bad luck.
Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini both headed into the international break with small knocks but were determined to represent Belgium.
Unfortunately, due to Roberto Martinez’s strange decision to play a full strength squad despite the country already qualifying for the World Cup, Fellaini’s injury worsened.
The midfielder is now out for the game on Saturday but thankfully it appears as though Lukaku will be able to represent United at Anfield.
Romelu’s presence will surely be a boost to the squad as they currently are missing Zlatan Ibrahimovic through injury as well.
Jose Mourinho sees the Swedish hero as the Belgian’s direct rival and had the former Everton man not recovered in time, the Portuguese manager would have some tough decisions to make.
Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial all missed their respective country’s fixtures meaning they’ll be well rested and raring to go against their rivals.
David De Gea was also rested for one of Spain’s fixtures and Nemanja Matic will be in great spirits after helping his nation qualify for the World Cup.
Eric Bailly is another player who represented his senior international team just once while Darmian played around 60 minutes of Italy’s match against Albania.
With most of his squad relatively fresh and coming through the international period unscathed, barring Fellaini, Mourinho will be hoping their positive fortunes away from the club will help facilitate an easy win against Liverpool in the Premier League.
