Marco Reus 'Would Give All His Money Away' To Be Free Of Injuries

Hold back the tears, guys.

Marco Reus is sidelined after undergoing surgery on a partial tear in his anterior cruciate ligament suffered during Borussia Dortmund's DFB Pokal final victory, last season.

He's been plagued with injuries which forced him out of the 2016 European Championships. Needless to say, the 28-year-old has endured a miserable four year spell.

With Reus recalling the half-time interval during the cup triumph, admitting he broke down in tears.

"The tears came again two or three days later when I went through it again in my mind," he told GQ via ESPN.

He's hoping to return to action next year, before revealing he'd give up all his money just to be free of injuries.

"I would give all my money away to be fit to be able to do my job, to do what I love - playing football."

The German attacker experienced a mix of emotions in May. He won his first club title but the occasion was obliviously marred following the injury.

"It was heaven and hell at the same time. It was my first title and of course I wanted to celebrate it differently than with a cruciate ligament injury.

"However, I think that is only human and it's important to let your feelings out.

While suggesting he could end his career away from the Westfalenstadion.

"Of course, there are four or five international clubs who interest me. On May 31 next year I will turn 30. That would be my last big contract and a final opportunity to try something different.

"I have to be honest and fair by saying that I still don't know where I'll end up. At the moment, I'm very happy in Dortmund and not thinking about the time after 2019. But of course, the time will come and then I will sit down and calmly make a decision," Reus added.
